From the beginning of December 1944, the gaps between extant arrival lists begin to grow and we have to rely mainly on transfer lists and other documentary and survivor evidence. From about midJanuary to March 1945, about 9000 survivors of the Todesmarsch of Auschwitz arrived in Ravensbrück. 14 From this list, from a large transfer list,15 and from the evidence of hundreds of survivors, it appears that Jewish women and girls constituted about 60% or more of the survivors of the Auschwitz Todesmarsch who reached Ravensbrück.
